A quick note on comments inserted in the texts:
It may appear that we are hypercritical of the administration's "plan." While the plan is still little more than a set of ideals that we think are impossible to enact on the whole, our own proposal relies heavily on privatized mandatory savings accounts -- the most controversial aspect of the administration's guidelines.

We are highly critical of the administration's use of fear and panic to sell a "fix" that we believe has benefits (if done right), in an effort to squelch serious consideration of the alternatives that also work to solve the problem and, we fear, may be structured to provide 11th hour windfall profits to certain segments of society not unsympathetic to the president's recent campign needs....
