Normal ("Full") Retirement Age

The normal retirement age ("Full Retirement Aged") is the age age at which retirees may begin collecting the"full" retirement benefits and on which the benefit formula is calculated. Currently the normal retirement age is in the process of rising from 65 to 67 - a process expected to be completed by 2027, for those born in 1960 or after.

One may receive a slightly reduced benefit if one retires before normal retirem,ent age, or a slightly increased benefit if one delays retirement beyond the normal age.
